Columbus, OH - Daequan Cook came off the bench and scored 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting, as the fourth-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes routed the underdog San Francisco Dons, 82-60, in a non-conference matchup. Ron Lewis scored 15 points for the Buckeyes (5-0), who opened the season by hosting the BCA Classic and winning all three of their games at that event by double figures. Mike Conley Jr. netted 12 points and dished nine assists, as the Buckeyes still await the return of Greg Oden, who is recovering from wrist surgery. Afflalo was also 5-of-7 from beyond the arc for the Bruins (2-0), who will play the 20th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats in the semifinals of the tournament on Tuesday. Kentucky slipped past DePaul, 87-81, in its opening round game on Monday. Josh Shipp added 16 points for UCLA and Darren Collison had 15 points in the victory. Zack Whiting poured in 14 points and had 10 assists for the Silverswords (0-1), who the Pac West Conference title last season in Division II and were playing in their first game of the season. Darrell Birton added 12 points in the loss after hitting four shots from beyond the arc.

St. Thomas, VI - Alonzo Gee and Mykal Riley both scored 13 points, as the 10th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide downed the Musketeers of Xavier, 63-56, to claim the title of the 6th Annual Paradise Jam Classic at the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center. Richard Hendrix scored 10 points for Alabama (4-0), which is a perfect 4-0 on this young season and opened the tournament with a solid 71-62 victory over Middle Tennessee. The Tide advanced to the title game with another impressive win, defeating Iowa, 72-60, Sunday night. Josh Duncan scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Musketeers (3-1), who were coming off a hard-fought 71-66 victory over Villanova in a second-round matchup from Sunday night. Xavier opened the tournament against a gritty VCU squad, but the Musketeers were able to survive with a 70-67 victory over the Rams. Johnny Wolf added 13 points and Justin Doellman grabbed 10 boards in defeat.

Nelson went 7-of-10 from the floor, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, while Lance Thomas contributed 15 points for the Blue Devils (4-0), who will face Marquette in the tournament championship on Tuesday. Jacob Burtschi and Nick Welch each scored 12 points for the Falcons (4-1), who were outrebounded 30-10 in their first loss of the season.

Bambale Osby added 14 points and seven boards for the Terps (6-0), who have yet to lose this season. D.J. Strawberry tallied 11 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out five assists as Maryland was playing for the first time since defeating Michigan State in the final of the Coaches versus Cancer Classic at Madison Square Garden. Craig Bradshaw had 15 points and six boards for Winthrop (3-2), which has dropped two of three. Torrell Martin added 14 points and seven rebounds for the Eagles, who were never really in this game despite the final score.
